Rohnert Park man suspected in Mendocino County homicide

Authorities have arrested a Rohnert Park man on suspicion of a Mendocino County homicide that led to a sheriff’s deputy’s injury during a search effort. Oscar Alvarez Ruiz, 23, is accused of fatally shooting the victim early Friday, east of Leggett, the Mendocino County Sheriff’s Office reported Monday. He is being detained without bail in the Mendocino County Jail and officials are investigating the motive behind the killing.
